Musée du Louvre
The Louvre has extensive collections organized into seven departments. These are housed in the three wings of the museum: Sully, Denon and Richelieu. These wings are respectively to the west, south, and north of the Pyramid. The Hall Napoléon is the name used to denote the space beneath the Pyramid which is now the official entrance to the Louvre. In the image below, the Richelieu Wing is to the left of the Pyramid; the Sully Wing to the right.

Arc de Triomphe
From the roof of the Arch there are spectacular views of Paris. Looking eastwards, down the Champs Elysées, toward the Louvre, there is the Place de la Concorde,, the Tuileries Gardens, and the Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel. In the opposite direction - westwards - in the distance is its larger and newer cousin, La Grande Arche de la Défense.

Musée de Arts Décoratifs

Musée national des Arts et Metiers
In 1794, the Abbot Grégoire founded the Conservatoire des arts et métiers. Installed between the walls of the old priory of Saint-Martin-des-Champs in Paris, this "depot of new and useful inventions" became a museum for all types of trades and crafts. The collection is unique in the world: 80,000 objects, 15,000 drawings testify to the ingenuity of humankind and the spirit of adventure of the pioneers of the industrial revolution. The museum is part of the Musée de l'Education Nationale system, for education, but it is also a place of marvels for all.

Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie
Located in the La Villette Park, the Cité offers a complete panorama of sciences and technology: communication, environment, health, astronomy, computers, etc. through exhibitions, shows, models, conferences and interactive games. Musée du Moyen Age
In the heart of the Latin quarter, the museum offers an exceptional journey through almost 15 centuries, from gallo-roman antiquity to the fifteenth century. It contains the vestiges of the baths of Lutecia (second and third centuries AD), including the cold room (frigidarium) and the gothic hotel of the abbots of Cluny, a jewel of the flamboyant architecture of the fifteenth century. Its collections reveal the richness of the arts and crafts of the Middle Ages. One of its masterpieces is the Dame à la Licorne tapestry. The sculptures represent important monuments: the abbey churches of Saint-Germain-des-Prés and Saint-Denis, the Sainte-Chapelle and Notre-Dame-de-Paris in particular.

Musée de la Musique
Located in the La Villette Park, the musée de la Musique will open in the summer of 1995. It is part of the cultural complex of the Cité de la Musique. Thanks to an original scenography and a sound visit, the permanent exhibition halls will present some 800 musical instruments from the Renaissance to the present day, as well as paintings, sculptures or works inspired by music. A 230 seat auditorium will stage concerts and cultural events that will highlight the richness of the collections.

Musée Nissim de Camondo
Reconstruction of an eighteenth century aristocratic home. This museum presents an exceptional range of furniture, paintings, rugs, porcelain and goldplate arranged in a mansion on the edge of the Parc Monceau. This home and its collections were bequeathed to France in 1935 by Comte Moïse de Camondo in memory of his son Nissim, who died in combat in 1917.
